The Duo Discus X manufactured by Schempp-Hirth, is the latest version of this gorgeous two seater high performance open class 18-m glider. This kit is built just like the full size, so it retains most of the technology of the original, being fully molded, with hollow molded wings. Start with the cockpit, it has been detailed to the extreme in terms of scale! By looking closely, you can imagine how many moulds had to be produces in order to be able to create all the required parts. To produce the airframe over 30 moulds are needed. Everything is there and very accurately reproduced, like the stick that is moveable and has a leather base. All instruments are covered with a glass. Adjustable seat belt, cushioned seats, tubular metal reinforced head rest. It is just incredible all the work that has been put into this true sailplane. Canopy opens like the full size and a hatch accessible through the vent window locks it in place. Even a canopy sun cover comes in the kit. Finallly there is even a special 150-mm wheel landing gear that has been manufactured for this exciting aircraft.
